Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, Colorado by way of Truck and E-bikes (9/13/20 & 9/14/20) Blog post 118

Drove to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We were unable to find parking at the many different locations, so we just drove through with the intent to return with our bikes and ride through the park. At the end of the drive through Garden of the Gods, we found an absolutely stunning park called "Schryver park" in Manitou Springs. There is a nice trail called the "Garden of the Gods trail", which paralles the Fountain creek. As we were walking we saw a momma deer and 2 babies laying in the bushes in the shade. The next day we returned with our Radpower e-bikes and rode the entire path and more. I feel the best way to see the park is to do it on bike. Visiting Family in Colorado Springs-Saying Goodbye! (9/12/20) Blog post 117

I have been looking forward to Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is where my Aunt Janet, Uncle Kenny, cousins Larry and Cheryl Coleman live. Aunt Janet is my mom's only sibling. My Uncle has been battling prostate cancer for several decades and was recently placed into hospice and is able to be on hospice at home. It is unknown how much longer he has. After speaking with my cousin, Cheryl and her informing us that they are practicing covid precautions the same as we are, we decided to go and see my family. We visited with my Aunt, Uncle and cousins for about 2 hours. My uncle kept apologizing for falling asleep while we visited. I feel so fortunate to have been able to see all of them. Just 4 days later, on our drive out of Colorado Springs, I received a call from my dad, telling me that Uncle Kenny passed away in the middle of the night.  What an incredible blessing for us to have seen him prior to his passing.

The snow from 2 days ago went away enough to allow us to pack up and travel to Colorado Springs, Colorado. With the fresh fallen snow, gave a beautiful landscape to enjoy on the drive. We also went our highest elevation to date and the Ram did great getting us up that mountain.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         (And just like that evidence of snow slowly disapearring)                                                                                                                                                        (The Great Wolf Lodge- in door water park and hotel- The kid inside of me wants to go so bad!)
