Back to Yuma Lakes for Christmas (12/23/20 to 1/6/20) Blog post 137

For the last two weeks we have been slowly traveling through New Mexico staying at the Las Cruces KOA and Lordsburg KOA. From there we spent a few days in Benson, and Maricopa, AZ before arriving back at The Yuma Lakes (Colorado River Adventures).

The park is quite empty for this time of year. We were told that it is because the Canadian snowbirds are stuck in Canada. There were so many empty sites. Even the Yuma estates, where there are long term residents was also quite empty compared to last year, prior to pandemic.

We took many bikes rides while in Yuma. We rode our bikes along many different lettuce fields in different stages of harvest. I found it to be quite interesting.

We were so excited to get our 2 person Inflatable Kayak from Amazon and get it inflated and try it out on the lake. We got it inflated and carried it to the lake. We did not take any cameras for fear of flipping over on our 1st try and ruining our cameras. We laughed so much and hard because we kept getting each other wet.

A few days later we took the kayak down the road to Mittry Lake. We forgot the skeg in the truck; Neil coming back with it on his head.

We were able to see many boon dockers enjoying the views of the lake.
